The Pre-War Cartoons (1930s)

In the 1930s, Renn drew for leading Melbourne newspapers The Age and The Sun. The following cartoons are only the small selection he retained of what was, most likely, a larger number of works. As you will see, even at this early age he had developed a unique style (of bold expressions and strong contrast) and even uniquer sense of humour (tending toward the absurd) - particularly in his sports-related drawings.
